He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Mack McDonald and Hilda Margaret Hall; and his brothers, John W. McDonald, Charles Nelson (Slim McDonald) and Richard Allen McDonald.
He is survived by: his wife Kitty; his children, Dean Hall McDonald and Meredith M. Evans of Front Royal, VA; his stepchildren, Vickie A. Hart (Jeff) of Stephenson, VA and James M. Hepner of Shenandoah Junction, VA; his sister-in-law Lois McDonald; and his grandchildren, Keenan McDonald (Randall), Morgan Evans and Ocean McDonald-Evans.
