He was predeceased by: his parents, Loren Oliver Zirkle and Carrie Zirkle (Wayts); and his brother Myron Zirkle. He is survived by: his brother Danford Zirkle; his wife Eleanor Rae Zirkle (Crites); his sons, Loren Zirkle of Pennsylvania Furnace, PA and Braniff Zirkle of Winchester, VA.; his daughter-in-law Donna Zirkle; and his grandchildren, Casey Love (Rebekah Love), Robbin Zirkle Degeratu (Liviu Degeratu) and Kevin Love (Bia Love).
