It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Ray Leon Haines of Winchester, Virginia, who passed away on December 17, 2024, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Ira Clark and Nell Frances Diehl Haines; his wife Frances Louise Strosnider Haines; his grandson Mark Wines; and his siblings, Charles, Marshall Haines, Violet Fiddler, Evelyn Sibert and Doris Meehan.
He is survived by: his daughters, Deborah Inez Wines (James) of Winchester, Pamela Rae Burke (Charlie) of Dreweryville, VA and Elizabeth "Ann" Strother (Donald) of Cross Junction, VA. He is also survived by five grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; five step great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 23rd 2024 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Jones Funeral Home - Winchester (228 S Pleasant Valley Rd, Winchester, VA 22601). A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 23rd 2024 at 12:30 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, December 23rd 2024 at 1:30 PM at the Shenandoah Memorial Park (1270 Front Royal Pike, Winchester, VA 22602).
In lieu of flower, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association in honor of his grandson, Mark Wines.
