With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Marvin Benjamin Yates of Winchester, Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 28, 2025 at the age of 56. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the sacred silence of farewell, Marvin is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of his loved ones. And as his memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Marvin's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
He was predeceased by: his mother Kristin Lee Havener; and his close friend Lori Philyaw. He is survived by: his father Elijah A. Yates; his son Jacob Yates (Hope); his granddaughter Mckenzie Yates; his sisters, Tamela Lynn Thorpe (Jeff) and Deeanna Hafer (Jeff); his stepmother Janet Yates; and his stepbrother Rick Bryant.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Jones Funeral Home - Winchester (228 S Pleasant Valley Rd, Winchester, VA 22601). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
