He was predeceased by: his parents, Lynwood Ashby (Mose) and Elizabeth Nickens Ashby; and his siblings, Kenny, Tony, Terry and Kim.

He is survived by: his sisters, Kathy Long of Winchester, VA and Trudy Ashby of Seattle, WA.; and his caregiver Eugene Polston. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
