He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Baker and Lela Baker; his wife Lucille Clara Kerns; his daughter Barbara Poling; and his siblings, Francis, Beatty, Martha, Ruth, Sam, Roy and James.

He is survived by: his children, Joyce Thomas, Michael Baker (Lana) and Danny Baker (Barbara); his sister Mary Ball; and his son-in-law Steve Poling. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; 3 great great-grandchildren.
