He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse James and Janie Palmer McGill; and his son James Lawrence McGill. He is survived by: his stepson Guy Smith (Pam) of Waldorf, MD; his grandsons, Jacob Smith (Lana) of St. Augustine, FL, Kevin Smith (Rebecca) of Dameron, MD and Matthew McGill of Hyattsville, MD; his great grandchildren, Owen, Paige Smith of Dameron, MD, Reece of St. Augustine, FL, Noah of St. Augustine, FL, Lucas of St. Augustine, FL and Raelyn Smith of St. Augustine, FL; and his half-brother Joe McGill of Sun Valley, CA..
