James Petrie Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Petrie (Winchester, Virginia), born in Brockton, Massachusetts, who passed away on June 2, 2022 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his mothers, Ida Barnes Petrie and Eugenia Petrie; his son Andrew Petrie; his sister Jane McKittrick; and his stepson R. Todd Spaid.
He is survived by: his former wife Eugenia V. Ciampa; his sister Helen Quinn of Brockton, MA; his children, Yvonne Hughes (Peter), Louise Buzzanca (John), Douglas Petrie (Bev), Grace Hoogeveen and Percy; his stepson Rodney Spaid (Jenny); his grandchildren, Angela Blum (Kevin), Matthew Knupp (Donna), Wendy Monger Bailey (Cory), Justin Brant (Tara), Joshua Brant (Valarie), Jared Brant, Jordan Brant (Samantha), Olivia Brant, Rachael Brant, Maria Hoogeveen and Alexander Hoogveen; his stepgrandchildren, Taylor Spaid Loughrin (Tim), Blair Spaid (Alec) and Thomas Spaid; his stepdaughter-in-law Kari Adams Spaid; and his sister-in-law Mary Jo Ciampa McGraw. He is also survived by several great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
He was faithful to his church, watching services on line during the pandemic.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations to Blue Ridge Hospice, Christ Episcopal Church, or a favorite charity.
