He was predeceased by: his parents, Arloff Spielman and Elma M. Spielman Spielman; and his siblings, Bradford Spielman, Malden "Mug" Spielman, Winona Hoover and Mary Lee Miller.
He is survived by: his daughter Donna K. Hyson of Clear Brook, VA; his grandchildren, Shawn D. Hyson (Janelle) and Dana S. Cook (Mike); and his great grandchildren, Kaleigh, Colby, Derrick, Brady, Broden, Jenna, Summer and Kara.
