She was predeceased by: her parents, Dory C. Miller and Georgia Smith Miller; her husband Clyde Melester; her son Dr. Timothy Melester; and her siblings, Virginia Miller, Betty Smith and Boyd Miller.
She is survived by: her children, Elizabeth "Libby" Wojcik of Raleigh and C. Steven Melester (Melanie) of Winchester; her grandchildren, Ryan Kilkelly, Katie Keever (Brian), Ben Melester (Cindy) and Sam Melester (Paula); her brother James "Jim" Miller (Judy Miller); and her nieces, Mary Tomek (Derek) and Gloria Riley.
