He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Paul and Ruth Herter (Gardiner); his brother William; and his son Richard. He is survived by: his brother Charles; his wife Rita Marie Vanderhoof; and his children, Gregory, Paula, Douglas, Karen, Matthew, Timothy and Daniel. He is also survived by 31 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
