He was predeceased by: his parents, Addison Louis Gibbs Sr. and Mary Louise Sanford; his son Anthony Gibbs (Bessy); his sister LaRica Gibbs (Ricci); and his granddaughter Tiffany Woodland.
He is survived by: the mother of his children Rosa Lee Gibbs-Messiah; his children, Denese Woodland (Jerry) of Columbus, Kenneth Gibbs (Laurie) of Bryans Road and Gregory B Gibbs (Natalie) of Indian Head; his grandchildren, Nikki Saunders (Fred), Theresa Pickett (Lonnie), Deanna Simmons (Kendrell), Leslie Jackson (Felipe), Phillip Woodland, Anthony Gibbs (Monica), Gregory A Gibbs and Jalen Gibbs; his great grandchildren, Fred Saunders, Nicholas Saunders, Sydney Woodland, Leela Pickett, Tate Pickett, Kennedy Simmons, Reagan Simmons, Nomi Gibbs, Nell Gibbs and Lucas Gibbs; his siblings, William Gibbs (Rose) and Lynn Thompson; and his close friend Susie Penic.
