He was predeceased by: his parents, Tressa Cain and Paul Helton; his son David Alan Helton; his son-in-law Chuck Hammer; his grandparents, Claude and Effie Collins; and his aunt Helen Chastain.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Beville Helton; his daughters, Cheryl Hammer and Janet Tinney (Steven); his grandchildren, Kate Helton (Bill), Dustin Tinney (Elizabeth), Travis Tinney (Katie), Sarah Adams (Bobby) and Tyler Burcham; his great grandchildren, Ryman, Rhett, Shelby, Lucy, Triton, Trinity, Hank and Fisher; and his close friends, Clyde and Sam.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made to Sharon Baptist Church, Cemetery Fund.
