He is survived by: his wife Susan Beth "Beth" Maxwell; his sons, William James "Jim" Maxwell III (Elizabeth) of Garner, NC and Walter "Allen" Maxwell (Nichole) of Raleigh, NC; his grandchildren, Elliott, Madelyn, William, Georgia, Caroline and James; his pet Mae; his stepmother Clara Maxwell; and his siblings, Charles Maxwell (Barbara) of Georgetown, SC, Adelaide Grattan (George) of Williamsburg, VA, Ainslie Reynolds (Jeff) of Ft. Myers, FL, Betsy Pierce (Tom) of Charlotte, NC, Susan Pearson (Ken) of Charlotte, NC and Cathy Herndon (Mike) of Lexington, SC.. He is also survived by his family and especially his sons and grandchildren.
