He is survived by: his children, Jacquelyn Lavern Hawkins Carter (John), Doris Ann Hawkins Levi (Ronald), Robert Linwood Hawkins Jr. (Lisa) and Doretta Denis Hawkins; his former wife Dorothy Ann Hill (Hawkins); his close friend Lucy Byrd; his sisters, Audrey Hawkins, Vinetta Hamilton, Ernestine Mangrum, Juanita Bausley and Maxine Hawkins; and his niece Connie Taylor-Futrell.
