He was predeceased by: his parents, Myrtle Carter and Woodis Carter; his siblings, Evelyn Green, Eloise Brown, Elwood Carter and Linwood Carter; and his nieces and nephews, Bernard Evans, Cornelius Carter, Karen Murray, Shiquita Fields and Catina Edlow.
He is survived by: his wife Josephine Carter; his sons, Robert Carter Jr. and Christopher of Washington; his stepchildren, Jimmy of Washington and Sheila of Washington; his grandchildren, Laporshia of Washington and Stephon Mayo; his great grandchildren, Saniyah of Washington and Damajah of Washington; his siblings, Sandra Brown and Randolph Carter; and his nieces and nephews, Sharon Murphy, Glenyce Carter, LaShawn Carter, Elwood Fields, James Edlow, Michael Morris and Lewis Morris. He is also survived by other loving relatives and many caring friends.
