He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Henry Malamphy and Mary Elizabeth Keane Malamphy; his stepmother Rita Malamphy Brooks; and his grandfather Joshua (Anna). He is survived by: his wife Pamela Fontenot Malamphy; his children, James Dean of Los Angeles, CA and Laura Tully (Jason) of Henrico, VA; his grandchildren, Joshua and Anna Tully; his siblings, Lee Maddare (Charles) of Wolcott, CT, Paul Malamphy of New York, NY, Peter Malamphy of Santa Clarita, CA and Kate Humphreys (Bruce) of Delray, FL.; and his pet Maggie. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army or the Food Bank of Virginia.
