He was predeceased by: his parents, Marian Taylor and Fleming Emmanuel Pierce Sr.; and his siblings, Russell Bowman, George Taylor, Fleming Emmanuel Pierce Jr., Hazel Taylor and Patricia Balou.
He is survived by: his wife Rosetta Lee Bowman; his children, Bernadette Bowman, Teresa Armstead (Preston), Raymond Bowman Jr. (Tammy), Blaine Bowman, Demetrye Bowman, Sharon Piggott (Tyrone), Rosaland Bowman (John), La'Mesa Bowman (Tony) and Tara Bowman (Oliver); his sisters, Vivian Frazier (Preston), Joyce Piggott (Raymond) and Kaye Molley; his siblings-in-law, Blanche Reed, Levonia Lee and John Archie Lee; and his close friend Oscar Howard. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren.
