She was predeceased by: her parents, Oliver Junior Carroll and Margaret Swift Carroll; her brother James Leland Carroll; her aunt Dorothy Amanda Winn; her cousin Paula Winn Oates; and her sister-in-law Penny Carroll.
She is survived by: her husband Jeffrey Lee Platte; her children, Andrew (Virginia McGraw) of Charleston and Amy McHugh (Mark) of Charlotte; her grandsons, Connor Platte, Alexander Platte, Holden Platte, James McHugh and Jeffrey McHugh; and her brothers, Jerrald Carroll of Sacramento and Bruce Carroll of Etna, California..
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM at the Nelsen Funeral Home (3785 Strawberry Plains Rd, Williamsburg, VA 23188). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Wednesday, February 19th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Arlington National Cemetery.
