She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Morris and Dorothy Marsh Morris; her sister Corrine "Sally" Holmes; and her children, Germaine Johnson, Loretta Briggs, Mona Briggs and Derrick Briggs.
She is survived by: her children, William Briggs III, Dorothy Parrott (Robert), Victoria White, Cecilia Johnson and Thomas Briggs. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, thirty-eight great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
