He was predeceased by: his parents, Roberta Brown and Ira Brown Jr.. He is survived by: the mother of his children Maude Marie Gray; his granddaughter Chakayla Spurlock; his sister-in-law Carrie Brown; his daughters, Lisa Brown-Smith, Leslie Spurlock (Tanaka) and Latrelle Brown; his grandchildren, Lamesha Walker, Gregory Walker Jr. (Crystal), Courtney Brown, Chakira Spurlock, Cynese Spurlock, Xavier Phillips, Ja'lynn Brown and Kaiden Brown; his great grandchildren, Midori Walker, Aubrianna Brown, A'Mirra Lipscomb, Layla Walker and A'Nyse Lipscomb; his siblings, Larry Brown, Ira Brown (Joanne), Sherman Brown (Alicia), Lillie "Dee Dee" Nelson (Joseph) and Freda Hill; and his nephews, Everette Brown and Corey Russell. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and many other loving relatives and friends.
A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 10th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Whiting's Funeral Home (7005 Pocahontas Trail, Williamsburg, VA 23185).
After being honorably discharged from the Army, Ette worked for many years at Anheuser-Busch and The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, retiring from both, and a longtime funeral attendant and driver for Whiting's Funeral Home.
