Kristel Matthews Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Kristel Matthews (Williamsburg, Virginia), who passed away on August 19, 2023 at the age of 69. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her friend Vanderbilt; and her parents, Joseph Kananowitz and Estelle Cappello. She is survived by: her grandson Hugh V; her husband George Matthews; her children, Scott Matthews (Emilie Tole) and Elizabeth Bryan (Hugh Bryan IV); her brother Joseph Kanon; her stepfather Angelo Cappello; her grandchildren, Hugh and Sloane Bryan; and also Gipper. She is also survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and countless dear friends.
