She was predeceased by: her parents, Karl Erik Wikstrom and Elfrieda Marie Sophia Wikstrom (Schneider); her brothers, Walter R. Wikstrom, Donald E. Wikstrom and Richard M. Wikstrom; her former husband Richard S. Mears, Sr.; her husband Henen C. Benthall; and her granddaughter Tiffany Danielle Mears.
She is survived by: her children, Richard Steven Mears, Jr. (Linda) of Conway, SC, Mark Allen Mears, Sr. (Cindy) of Newport News, VA, Thomas Wayne Mears, Sr. (Dorothy) of Calabash, SC, Margery Mears Hinman (Warren) of Williamsburg, VA and Michael Benthall Mears (Sara) of Bloxom, VA; her stepdaughter Jane Travis of Dover, DE; her sister Barbara Cummings of Newport News; and her grandchildren, Melanie, Richard III, Kristy, Mark, Jr., Jennifer, Bobby, Tom, Jr., Christina, Christopher, Kathi, Kelli, Joni, Joshua, John, Julia and Jackson. She is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:50 PM at the Williams Parksley Funeral Home (25046 Parksley Rd, Parksley, VA 23421). A graveside service was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Liberty Cemetery (18670 County Rd, Parksley, VA 23421).
