She was predeceased by: her parents, Chesley Boykin and Nettie Boykin; her husband Henry Alvin Evans; and her siblings, Vertice Harris, Vernie, Elmer, Ernie and Johnell Boykin.

She is survived by: her children, Alvin Evans (Anne) of Williamsburg, Thomas Evans of Williamsburg, Cheryl Otey of Williamsburg and Kim Hayes of Williamsburg; and her grandchildren, Lance, Steven Evans, Stephanie Langford, Shannon Salmons, Chris, Jeffrey, Ashley Gibson, Skylar and Kendall Hayes. She is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren.
