She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Gray and Catherine Gray of Sussex County, Virginia.; her former husband Horace Thomas, Sr.; and her sons, Horace Leon Thomas, Jr. and Ronnie Lee Thomas.

She is survived by: her husband Willie Lee Fitts; and her children, Shirley Thomas-Davis, Sharon Thomas, Elton Thomas, Reginald Thomas, Eric Thomas and Dr. Moses Thomas. She is also survived by nineteen grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren; four sisters and one brother; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
