He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Packett Bruce; and his son Mark A. Bruce. He is survived by: his parent Flossie Thompson Bruce; his son William Bruce; his daughter-in-law Pat Bruce of White Stone; and his grandchildren, Christopher Bruce of Farmville and Cathryn Bruce of Richmond.
