He was predeceased by : his parents, Jessie Tapley and Adell Chester Shelton; and his siblings, Mary Jett, Doris Jett, Polly Walker, Frances Abbott, Calvin, Lloyd, Joseph "Wickie", Douglas "Buck", John Thomas and Steven "Dinky" Shelton.

He is survived by : his wife Mae Staton. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, as well as many great-nieces and great-nephews; and many friends he loved.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to Morattico Baptist Church, P.O. Box 228, Kilmarnock, VA 22482.

He had a larger than life personality and he was truly a one of a kind person. Some of us were closer to him then others but I am so grateful and appreciative for the years I had with him.
