He was predeceased by: his wife Cloah B. Owens; and his grandson Adam Williams. He is survived by: his daughters, Beulah Long (William) of Culpeper, LaDonna Fry of Mathews and Barbara Owens of White Stone. He is also survived by three grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
