It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Jean Holmes of White Stone, Virginia, who passed away on June 6, 2024, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Betty Jean Holmes to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by : her husband James M. "Mel" Holmes, Sr.; her daughter Debra Diane Holmes; her parents, Henry George and Edna Brooks Lightfoot; and her sister Dorothy Howell.

She is survived by : her son Jim Holmes (Amy); her granddaughters, Jennifer Rollings (Joseph) and Janie Kelly (Justin); and her great grandchildren, Reagan Rollings, Bennett Rollings and Hayden Kelly. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, June 11th 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the Currie Funeral Home (116 E Church St, Kilmarnock, VA 22482). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, June 11th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Woodlawn Cemetery.
