She was predeceased by: her husband Edward Lawrence Hawkins. She is survived by: her son David B. Hawkins (Audrey) of Lexington; and her granddaughters, Leslie Meadows (Josh) of Cary, N. C. and Blaire O'Brien (Eric) of Richmond, VA. She is also survived by four great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial contributions to the North Carolina Down Syndrome Alliance, P. O. Box 99562, Raleigh, NC 27624 in honor of Tess Meadows.
