He was predeceased by: his parent Woodrow Vandevander; and his grandparent George Vandevander. He is survived by: his parent Beatrice Vandevander (Shifflet); his grandparent Ethel Vandevander; his wife Rita Vandevander (Williams); his son Jeffrey Vandevander of Weyers Cave; his daughter-in-law Alice "Sissy" Vandevander of Weyers Cave; his daughter Kimberly Rathburn of Staunton; his son-in-law Philip Rathburn of Staunton; his brother Robert Vandevander of St. Paul; his sister-in-law Barb Vandevander of St. Paul; his grandchildren, Zachary Vandevander, Stephanie McCray, Jessica Vandevander of Olympia and Ryan Rathburn; and his great grandchildren, Lani Goggin, Peyton McCray, Finley McCray, Sydney Vandevander and Arlo McCray.
