He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Philbates and Geneva Philbates; and his grandson James Paxton Edmonds, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Linda Prince; his daughters, Donna Edmonds and Mary Bush; his grandchildren, Tiffany Mitchell (Billy) and Justin Bush; his great grandchildren, Ella Jane Paxton Edmonds and Kathryn Avery Mitchell; his sister Evelyn Virginia Smither; his aunt Joyce Adams; and his brothers-in-law, Michael Prince (Jenny) and Chris Prince (Barbara).
