He was predeceased by: his parents, James Johnson and Florence Johnson; and his sister Carolyn Jean Brooks. He is survived by: his wife Mary Spruell Johnson of Johnson's Kitchen; his children, Jan B. Johnson, Jodie B. Johnson, Lisa Johnson (Chris) and Lori Crewe (Kerry); his granddaughter Kourtney Brown (Lamar); his great grandchild Lauren Brown; his siblings, Barbara Pryor, Milton Johnson (Mariana) and Richard Johnson (Theressa); his brother-in-law Charles Brooks; his godson Richard "Ronnie" Whitehead (Crystal); and his sister Jeanette Thorpe. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and many other cherished family members and friends.
A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, December 11th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Mt. Nebo Baptist Church (1224 Kirby St, West Point, VA 23181).
