She was predeceased by: her parent Pearl C. Edwards Brown of King William, Virginia.; her son Michael; her stepfather George Sr.; her siblings, Walter and Mattie; and her grandparents, Johnnie and Beulah Jefferson Edwards.
She is survived by: her husband William Highsmith; her children, Jeffrey Highsmith of Newark, NJ, Gregory Highsmith (Angela) of Phillipsburg, NJ, Valerie Highsmith of Willard, NC and David Highsmith (Cassandra) of Raleigh, NC; her grandchildren, Malika, Sherica, Al-Tariq, Brittney, David II, Devin, Adriana and Gregory II; her great grandchildren, Keyana, Tahir, London and Dannie; her siblings, Annie Mae (Shirley), Mary Alice of Richmond, VA, Betty of Hartford, CT, Pearl Theresa (Martha) of Silver Springs, MD, George Jr. of Richmond, VA and Leon of Washington, DC; and her siblings-in-law, James Highsmith of Union, NJ, Clarence Highsmith of Willard, NC, Joyce Murphy (Daulis) of Plainfield, NJ and Elizabeth Brown of West Point, VA. She is also survived by great nieces, nephews, great nephews, other relatives and friends.
