She was predeceased by: her daughter Karen Boen; and her brother Russell Larson. She is survived by: her husband Stuart Steensma; and her sons, George Steensma (Mary), Russell Steensma (Barbara) and Stuart Steensma, Jr. (Michele). She is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; one niece and one nephew.
