Violet Dockery Quillen Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Violet Dockery Quillen of Weber City, Virginia, who passed away on February 8, 2024, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Compton Mack Quillen; her parents, Will Dockery and Julie Lane Dockery; and her brother Willie H. Dockery, Sr.. She is survived by: her sons, Jimmy Gale Quillen and Gary Mac Quillen (Rita); her grandchildren, Zeke Quillen, Teague Quillen and Kelsey Quillen Goodwin (Jim); her great grandchild Finn; and her niece Marietta Dockery Osborne. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, Violet requested that people who wish to honor her memory donate to her favorite charities, which she had supported by monthly donations for many years: Shriner's Children's Hospital, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607-1460, and St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
