With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Lena Hazel Gibson of Weber City, Virginia, born in Duffield, Virginia, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Lena left this world on July 31, 2024 at the age of 97, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, H. P. Bledsoe and Josie Bledsoe; her husband Dan Gibson; and her siblings, Glen "Carl" Bledsoe, Jean Moore and Jerry Broadwater.
She is survived by: her children, Betsy Gibson and Randy Gibson; her grandchildren, Ryan Gibson and Kelsey Vincent (Taylor); her great grandchild Brenna Vincent; and her nieces and nephews, Kim Broadwater, Linda Vaughn, Darlene Shoemaker, Donna Ford, Glen Bledsoe and Lyle Bledsoe. She is also survived by friends, caregivers and special neighbors.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to First Baptist Church of Weber City, 155 Shady Elm, Weber City, VA 24290 and/or to Paula Coffey, 6565 Hurricane Road, Wise, VA 24293 for local animal rescue efforts.
