It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Janelle Speers (Weber City, Virginia), born in Hiltons, Virginia, who passed away on May 22, 2024, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her mother Grace Woods Hensley; her husband Walter M. Speers; her granddaughter Adriane Deyerle; and her sisters, Minnie Blalock (Charles), Lois Houser (Clifton) and Yvonne Kern (Auburn).
She is survived by: her children, Sherwin L. Sumner (Judy), David Rickey Sumner (Diana) and Leta Sumner Deyerle (Robert); her grandchildren, Mary Jo Jones (Jimmy), Tina Lane (Craig), Misty Hartsock (Scotty), Justin Sumner (Kendra), Erin Fisher (James) and Lauren Parrilla (Orlando); her great grandchildren, Max, Genevieve, Madeline, Jacob, Reagan, Parker, Ryley and Porter; and her close friends, Pearl Collins and Betty Lawson.
