He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Ervin and Francis Queen Ervin. He is survived by: his wife Rosa Lee Ervin; his children, Beth Rodriguez (Nelson), April Lane (Tyler), Tim Hensley and Josh Ervin; his grandchildren, Amanda Carter (Jeffery), Jessica Walker (Bo), Isaac Shepard, Anna Shepard, Melody Shepard, Esteban Rodriguez, Ella Lane, Eliza Lane and Eva Lane; and his siblings, Charlene Brickey (Ron) and Ken Ervin (Audrey). He is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
