He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Chapman and Myrtle Egan Chapman; his grandparents, Orbin, Maxine Chapman, Robert "Pat" and Dora Egan; his in-laws, Arlie and Polly Stanley; and his siblings, Terry Chapman, E. W. Chapman, Judith Ann Chapman and Marcia Mast.
He is survived by: his wife Wanda Stanley Chapman; his children, Lori Edwards-Sluss (Tommy) and Travis Lynn Edwards (Jessica); his grandchildren, Tiffany Gilreath (Trevor), Thomas Sluss (Courtney), Alissa Arkel (Terry), Michael Sluss, Shaun Edwards and Emma Edwards; his great grandchildren, Miracle Gilreath, Mia Arkel, Addison Sluss and Baby Arkel; his siblings, Peggy Rhoton (Chuck), Gayla Ekstrand (Einar), Dianne Brent (Chris), Elton Chapman (Connie) and Stevie Chapman (Jolie); and his siblings-in-law, Jeannie Chapman, Sandy Chapman and John Mast, Jr..
Visitation was held on Monday, April 14th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Colonial Funeral Home (2904 US Hwy 23 S, Weber City, VA 24290). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 14th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A procession was held on Tuesday, April 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, April 15th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Holston View Cemetery (226-292 Yuma Rd, Weber City, VA 24290).
