He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey Jasper and Oakie Mae Watson Cassell; his children, Lisa Davis and Michael Cassell; and his siblings, Mary Depew, Jeanete Childress, Charlie, Paul, Hughie, Roy, Doyle and Emory Cassell.
He is survived by: his wife June Rollins Cassell; his daughter Rhonda Ray (Gregory); his stepsons, Mark Rollins (Trina) and Chris Rollins (Olivia); his grandchildren, Scott Cassell (Shaila), Jeffery Cassell, Jessica Alrcon (Lyle), Hughie Rhoton and Tyler Lumpkins (Tonisha); his stepgrandchildren, Chase Rollins (Abby), Kyle Rollins (Abigail), Will Rollins and Elisabeth Rollins; his great grandchildren, Piper, Anastasia, Saphira Lumpkins, Raelynn Cassell, Aaron and Alison Alrcon; and his siblings, Virgie Wallen, Bill Cassell (Louella) and Larry Cassell. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
