He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Gibson and Loria Strong Gibson; his wife Juanita Inez Gibson; and his children, Michael Wayne Gibson and Amy Michelle Gibson.
He is survived by: his daughters, Sherry Layne (Robert), Tammy Jennings (Carl) and Kim Gibson (Don Shoemaker); his son-in-law Walter Smith; and his grandchildren, Casteel, Kayla Warren, Tyler Gibson, Cheyenna Campbell, Cody Hammonds, Morgan Campbell, Garrett Layne, Gregory Layne and Piper Shoemaker. He is also survived by several great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to Colonial Funeral Home to assist the family with funeral expenses.
