She was predeceased by: her parents, James Griffin and Gertrude McDavid (Rhoton); her husband Don W. Stokes; and her siblings, Kathy Hensley, Rosie Neeley, James Griffin and Paul Griffin.
She is survived by: her children, Anita Gillenwater (David) of Church Hill, TN and Rick Stokes (Jennifer) of Gate City, VA; her grandsons, David Lee Gillenwater (Ashlynn), Aaron Stokes (Katie) and Brayden Stokes; her great grandchildren, Maylee, Ella and Kyler Gillenwater; her sister Elizabeth Mitchell (Lizzy); and also Jimmy Darnell. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
