He was predeceased by: his parents, Warner Ervin and Emily Gilliam Ervin; his wife Betty Darnell Ervin; and his siblings, Sue Miller and Arlie Ervin.

He is survived by: his daughter Kristi Ervin; his siblings, Jean Davis and Kenny Ervin; and his close friend Della McMurray.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holston View Methodist Church or Samaritan's Purse.
