She was predeceased by: her husband S. W. Spivey; her parents, Ona Gilliam Lane and Robert Williams; and her siblings, Annabelle Cox, Margaret Stewart, Mildred McAlister, Walter and George.

She is survived by: her close friend Lacy Sloan; her children, Becky Cowden, Rebecca Sloan, Debbie Carter and Eddie; her grandsons, Adam and Jason; her daughter Phyllis; her great grandchildren, Marty, Jeremy, Stefanie, Whitney, Jon and Kevin; her great great grandchildren, Connor, Cadance, Kean and Oaklynn; and her brothers, Larry (Mary) and Gary (Gail). She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
