He was predeceased by: his father Joe Edward Lawson, Sr.; his son Timothy Lawson; and his siblings, Brenda Louise Lawson Martin, Dale Alvin Marshall and Roger R. Lawson.
He is survived by: his children, Telina Lawson, Tammy Robertson, Nicole Fisher, Becky Fitzgerald, Thomas John Lawson, Jr. and Dustin Fisher; his brother Billy Lawson; and his close friend Drake Powell. He is also survived by twenty-one grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
