He was predeceased by: his father Marvin Lee Simmons. He is survived by: his mother Ruby Dean Simmons (Bartley) of Waynesboro; his brother Construction; his children, Rick Jr. of Waynesboro, Chance and Tori; his grandson Grayson of North Carolina; and his siblings, Debra Simmons-Johnson (David), Sissy Thompson (Charles) of North Carolina and Rex Simmons (Amy). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
