She was predeceased by: her parents, Clifford M. Smith and Caris Smith (Emmons); and her husband Jerry Bliss Layman. She is survived by: her children, Caris Layman of Waynesboro, David Layman (Amy) of Waynesboro and Sarah Layman Graf (David) of Staunton; her grandchildren, Micah and Adrienne Graf; and her sisters, Carolyn Galt (Smith) of Charleston, SC, Marjory Keller (Smith) of Stuarts Draft, VA and Carole Newton of Brookneal, VA.
