He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Mayes and Ethel Mayes; his wife Rhoda Knopp Mayes; and his son Danny Mayes. He is survived by: his children, Mera Beth Oudersluys (Tom), Julianne Mayes and Tim Mayes (Christy); and his grandchildren, Stephen Oudersluys, Michael Oudersluys, Marissa Mayes, Kaitlyn Overstreet and Colin Mayes. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
