She was predeceased by: her parents, Nelson Sims and Madeline Carr Sims; her husband Benjamin of Washington; and her daughter Charlene of Washington. She is survived by: her children, Shirley Bourne (Robert Bourne), James, Sr. (Kim) of Washington, Rosetta Carr, Betty of Washington and Cassandra Tynes; her sister-in-law Rebecca of Washington; her nieces, Barbara Mallory, Stella Summers, Hilda Johnson, Thelma Sims and Carol Brooks; and her friends, Jesse Stewart IV, Kenneth Thomas, Lewis Baskfield and Catherine Bonds. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
